In-home Training

Moxie Personal Training is mobile. I can come to your home and guide you through a workout. There are benefits to working out at home: privacy, no waiting for machines, great commute. I have equipment I can bring if a client doesn't have anything in-house: BOSU balls, handweights, resistance tubing, TRX trainer, step bench, medicine balls, etc.

All personal training begins with a consultation that includes workout history, goal exploration, medical history and may require a physician's release based on the medical history. For example, exercise is affected by diabetes, cardiovascular issues, musculoskeletal injuries, etc. I do not want to suggest exercises that are contraindicated per a client's condition. Sometimes I have to refer a client to a doctor/therapist if the protocol dictates it. Training professionals and the medical field are here to help clients and patients -- get them healthy, and help them to get strong.

After the consultation, but before a workout and program are created, I do a fitness evaluation to get your baseline level of fitness. This can include body fat analysis, heart rate recovery (indicator of cardiovascular fitness), flexibility measurement, and strength/endurance. The results, along with your goals and interests, are what I use to develop your exercise program.

Once we set the schedule and you choose a training package, I bring my equipment for those workouts to your home or we use your equipment, per condition and appropriateness. During the session, I provide instruction, encouragement and keep the workout continuous. When you begin personal training, it is important to give the program time, commitment and your full attention. To be successful, this includes time training on your own as well. I am providing you with the encouragement, knowledge and framework, but you must do the work and follow the suggestions. I require this of all my clients.

Sessions begin at $50 for a single visit; packages are available (and recommended) that include preferred rates. Another option people like is semi-private training - bring a friend, share the cost. Semi-private sessions begin at $60 (split between 2) for a single visit; packages available. Earn free sessions: refer a friend who selects a training package, and you receive a free session.
